The experimental farm
Precision Testing conducts GEP, DEMO, agronomic and varietal trials in northern Italy, by choosing the most suitable environments for the purposes of the studies. The field trials are hosted by selected farms, with high expertise.
Precision Testing also directly manages a 4,3 ha experimental irrigable farm, located in the Verona plain, in an area with a strong agricultural vocation.
A tunnel of 400 sqm is used to manage trials requiring protected conditions.
The farm is reserved for experimental trials that require daily and punctual management of the crops.
The possibility of freely manage and carrying out artificial infestations with insects, mites, fungi, and weeds typical of the Po Valley, allows to increase the chances of success for the chemical trials, compared to the natural development of the populations of pests, fungi, and weeds, which is instead strongly linked to the seasonal climatic trends.
This method allows the management of trials on a wide range of crops (arable, vegetables, ornamentals) and targets, both in open field and in protected conditions.
A portion of the farm is used for seed multiplication and varietal maintenance of self-pollinating species, such as cereals and soybeans.
The entire activity is managed independently, with owned machinery.
