Plant protection: the agrochemical sector must also prepare for the era of drones
Published on AgroNotizie, an article taking stock of the current state of drone testing in Italy and the current regulatory framework.
Precision Testing is the ideal scientific partner, one of the seven entities authorized by the Ministry of Health to conduct drone trials in 2025 and the only Testing Center to have obtained authorization from ENAC with its own pilots and drones.

March 2026 - Bologna
Giornate Fitopatologiche 2026
From March 17 to 20, 2026, the 31st edition of the Giornate Fitopatologiche (program) was held at the "Grand Tour Italia Congress Center","Bologna, Italy.
This year as well, Precision Testing attended with its own stand. The event was the perfect opportunity to present the results of the experimental activity carried out during 2025 to test the applicability of plant protection treatments for basil using drones, compared with the traditional spray boom.
The experimental work, entitled “Preliminary results on the use of drones for the protection of basil against downy mildew,” was published in the Proceedings and presented, also in poster form, on Thursday, March 19, during the session “Application of plant protection products.”

December 2025 – Ancient Fair of Santa Lucia di Piave (TV)
TECHNOLOGIES CHANGING AGRICULTURE
Networks, drones, and autonomous machines in action. Current state of the art, ongoing experiments, and short- and medium-term development prospects
In Santa Lucia di Piave (TV), from December 13 to 15, 2025, the 1365th edition of the historic International Agriculture Fair took place. The event, organized by Confagricoltura Treviso in collaboration with the INNOSAP network and the Universities of Padua and Verona, focused on the current state of the art and the short- to medium-term prospects of various high-tech solutions in agriculture.
On December 13, an interesting meeting was held at the Auditorium Filande Pavilion to discuss innovative technologies (program).
Precision Testing took part in the event with a presentation focused on “Drones: ongoing experiments.”

September 2025
In 2025, the Testing Center of Precision Testing was one of the seven entities authorized by the Ministry of Health to conduct experimental trials using drones for the spraying of plant protection products, and the only Testing Center to have obtained operational authorization from ENAC (the Italian Civil Aviation Authority) to operate with its own drones and pilots.
Everything originated from the need of the cooperative company Orti dei Berici to assess the potential of drones in protecting basil crops against downy mildew, as an alternative strategy in situations where, after heavy rainfall, the soil conditions do not allow access for traditional equipment.
The trial — the only one of its kind carried out in the Veneto region and the only one conducted in Italy on this crop — was designed by Precision Testing technicians in collaboration with the working group of the Agricultural Mechanics Laboratory of TESAF at the University of Padua. It provided useful insights and very promising results both in terms of effectiveness and environmental safety.
Given the growing interest in experiments concerning the use of UAS in crop protection, we aim to widely disseminate the results obtained, both through publications in industry journals and through meetings and conferences that will be organized in the coming months.

Informatore Agrario n. 3 - 2025
Sustainable irrigation of grapevines: what you need to know
In issue no. 3 of “L'Informatore Agrario” one of our articles entitled “Sustainable Irrigation: What You Need to Know” was published. It summarizes a trial conducted in 2024 in a vineyard belonging to a historic wine-producing company in the “Soave area”, aimed at defining a suitable operational protocol to support winegrowers’ decision-making for precision irrigation management, particularly in plots characterized by zones with different soil properties and hosting multiple grape varieties.

Verona 29-30 January 2025

The Fieragricola event dedicated to innovation in agriculture attracted more than 3,000 participants. We had the opportunity to discuss our vision of innovation in agricultural experimentation and in support of farmers, also during the meeting organized on January 29 in the Tech Forum Verde hall.
In the episode of Friday, January 24 of Focus Verona Economia, dedicated to Fieragricola TECH 2025, we presented our activities that we will explore further in Verona, on January 29-30.
JANUARY 2025
We will also present some results achieved within the framework of the project “Innovative services to drive farmers in the integrated crop protection and precision farming operations”, provided for by the PR Veneto Region FESR 2021-2027 Call
Sub B “Support for research and innovation activities of SMEs”
The consolidation project "Innovative services to drive farmers in the integrated crop protection and precision farming operations" aims to study and develop the most suitable operational strategies to provide innovative services to farms, helping them in the precise management of production factors and integrated crop protection.
Thanks to the knowledge acquired during the implementation of the project, Precision Testing S.R.L. will be able to provide a cycle of complete support to agricultural entrepreneurs: starting from the phases of monitoring, moving on to the study and creation of prescription maps, up to the application (on different crops) of production factors and protection means, in compliance with mandatory integrated crop protection and regional production guidelines, through precision farming.
MARCH 2024

From March 12 to 15, in San Lazzaro di Savena (BO), the 31st edition of the Phytopathological Days was held.
Precision Testing S.R.L. was present with its own stand to illustrate the innovative approach adopted in experimentation with plant protection products and biostimulants.

Precision Testing supports the various players in the agronomic supply chain, with high technical-scientific professionalism, machinery and tools for precision agriculture both for testing and for using new products according to the logic of precision farming.
Precision Testing has been admitted to receive the contribution provided by the PR Veneto Region FESR 2021-2027 Call Action 1.1.3 year 2023 dedicated to the consolidation of innovative start-ups for the implementation of the project “Innovative services to drive farmers in the integrated crop protection and precision farming operations”.
